Computer Science Student
I'm Benjamin Davis, a third-year Computer Science student at Western University, working toward IT support and systems roles. This site is part portfolio, part project journal: working software, solar hardware, 3D prints, games, and whatever else I'm currently curious about.
The short version.
I'm drawn to the practical side of computer science: troubleshooting problems, setting up systems, and turning messy information into something organized and usable. Most of my projects start with a real problem. My family's business needed to keep its event inventory organized, so I built an app to run it. Our solar panel idea needed control software, so I built that too.
I'm aiming for IT support, troubleshooting, and systems-related work. Alongside school, I'm working through the CompTIA A+ and Google IT Support certifications, and using projects like my home server plans to get more hands-on with storage, networking, and infrastructure.

Half of this site is hobbies: 3D printing, game development, Blender, drawing, and photography.
Around 50 hours of model repair and weeks of printing to bring GLaDOS from Portal 2 into the real world.

A co-op at Canadian Tire Corporation, plus customer-facing work and practical day-to-day responsibility.
September 2026 - Present
After more than three years working in Canadian Tire stores, I'm spending my co-op on the corporate side. I'm a developer on a new task management tool built directly for Canadian Tire stores, and the goal is for every manager, dealer, and employee to use it.
April 2023 - August 2026
Worked in a fast-paced retail environment helping customers, supporting multiple departments, answering questions, organizing inventory, and handling tasks independently. The role built a lot of practical experience around reliability, problem-solving, communication, and keeping things organized.
2018 - 2021
Cut grass for customers, often working through several properties in a day, including big rural lots on a riding mower. The job taught me to work consistently, communicate clearly with customers, and take pride in leaving every lawn looking sharp.
Tools and habits I use regularly.
Comfortable using Git from the command line for pull, add, commit, and push workflows.
Patient, organized problem-solving with an interest in support, setup, and system issues.
Coursework and project interest in SQL-backed tools and information management.
Built two working React + Tailwind dashboards (solar monitoring and business inventory), plus this site.
